Summer Salons — The Hunger Project Leadership Council

"We earthlings are being invited to see ourselves in the long view, to acknowledge the dangers and urgency of the present moment while committing ourselves to creating a future grounded in harmony and responsibility toward the natural world and the entire community of life."

— Lynne Twist, co-founder, The Pachamama Alliance

You're Invited

We are excited to announce The Hunger Project’s Summer Salons and you are invited to participate. Come to engage and leave with some new ways of looking at our world!

The salons are an opportunity to engage with others in meaningful conversations on topics that impact the lives of all human beings. The Planetary Citizen’s Handbook - A Journey from Separation to Interconnectedness serves as the basis for our discussions. In addition, we offer examples of The Hunger Project’s work to illuminate the themes of the Handbook. Whether this is your first Salon or you have been to several, your joining the conversation will make a difference.

July's Focus: Nature

Our July Salons will focus on the “Nature” chapter of the Handbook as well as revisit THP’s Mission Statement: Our mission is to facilitate individual and collective action to transform the systems of inequity that create hunger and cause it to persist.

Is nature merely a set of resources to be exploited for human gain? What is the cost to humanity of the environmental degradation we continue to create? How do we transform a system of inequity? What are the most powerful conditions needed to make that possible? Who am I in the matter? We will discuss this and more in the Salons.
